Review Summary:

All in all a good place to go if you want to learn about trading from other people who are knowledgeable and experienced in the field.

The London Academy of Trading (LAT) is based out of London in the United Kingdom. Founded by James Clements who used to run London Global Investments. They offer trading programmes for students world wide. Although they do also provide in person courses that you can attend, but they are only available to people that can make the journey to the city of London.

Programmes

They offer five different courses. Each is for a very specific purpose. They are listed below.

  • Professional Financial Trading Programme, a three month course
  • Applied Financial Trading Programme, a one month course
  • Introduction to Banking, Finance and Trading, a one week course
  • Introduction to Financial Markets, a two day course
  • Professional Futures Trading Programme, a six week course

We will talk about the most interesting ones.

The longest and most in-depth course is the Professional Financial Trading Programme, which is the most advanced they have on offer. It will take three months to go through the whole programme and to attend on campus you will have to be phisically in London. But attending long distance is also possible. Or a mix of the two.

It will help you to be able to:

  • Develop and apply a structured and consistent trading strategy
  • Understand the trading mechanics of different asset classes
  • Understand how asset prices are affect human behaviour in financial markets
  • Evaluate the performance of financial securities and determine whether a financial asset is under-valued or over-valued
  • Apply technical indicators, studies and techniques to information from price charts
  • Interact with market colleagues and competitors using the appropriate market terminology and etiquette
  • Apply learnt knowledge to real-time financial markets trading

The shortest and most suited course for real beginners is the Introduction to Financial Markets course. You will get to know a lot in a short amount of time. And it is a really great introduction course, for a great price. The only thing is that you will have to take this course on the London campus. There is no way you can take this course long distance.

Faculty

The team that educates the students of the London Academy of Trading consists of nine people. Each with their own specific area of knowledge and experience. True masters of their trade and great teachers from what we have gathered.

All in all a good place to go if you want to learn about trading from other people who are knowledgeable and experienced in the field.

Pros

  • Great courses for great prices

Cons

  • Not all courses can be attended long distance
